Before It’s Obvious · Issue 06 · AI-Made Games Reach Roblox's Top 20

Most important signal right now

AI-made games are reaching Roblox's top 20

More than 500,000 people have used Roblox's prompt-to-game tool, over 70,000 games have been published, and two games made almost entirely with AI reached the top 20: AI help is becoming normal in successful games, not just in demos.

Assumption to challenge

"When making something becomes cheap, the tool that makes it captures most of the value."

The one-paragraph version

For five weeks we've watched agents get names, budgets and safeguards. This week the story turned to what happens when making things gets cheap. Roblox says more than 500,000 people have tried its tool that turns a typed idea into a game, and two games made almost entirely with AI reached its top 20. That makes the hard part getting played, and played again. In warehouses, GXO is taking Agility's humanoid robot from one site to three, the first time we've seen a customer come back for more. And a Visa survey found that more than half of Americans have used AI to help them shop, but fewer than a quarter would trust it to pay. In all three, the making, the robot and the research are getting easier. The value is moving to what comes after.
